PROJECT OVERVIEW
To build on the momentum of Google’s sponsorship of the Tokyo Paralympics, the brand wanted to highlight some of the unique ways that Tokyoites are using Google products.
After an extensive search with Japanese journalists and story hunters, we discovered Nobuyuki Yamaga – a blind origami artist who uses Google Pixel and its accessible TalkBack technology to share his passion with the world.
“We’re always looking for new ways to redefine what a documentary can be, and this project gave us a chance to push the visual expression of real life into new territory.”

THE PRODUCTION
At the age of four, Nobuyuki began losing his vision. His mother introduced him to origami, the ancient Japanese art form that relies on precision, memory, and touch. Over time, he mastered the craft, turning it into both a personal refuge and a means of connection.
His artistic obsession served as the inspiration for the tactile visual language of the film. After capturing Nobuyuki’s documentary interview, we assembled an incredible team of designers and 3D animators to bring his story to life with a visual richness that felt as real and vibrant as his colorful paper works of art.
IMPACT
By combining documentary storytelling with accessibility advocacy, the project highlights the potential of inclusive design without losing its emotional core.
This campaign stands as a reminder that thoughtfully desAssigned tools don’t just assist—they amplify human potential and reimagine what’s possible.
“The challenge of humanizing Big Tech and grounding the benefits in an emotional story is conquered with charm and visual wit.”
