PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Me You Can’t See is a multi-part documentary series for AppleTV+ that explores the complex realities of mental health and emotional well-being.

Co-created and hosted by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry, and Executive Produced by Catherine Cyr, the series weaves together personal interviews, expert insights, and intimate portraiture to offer a steady, quiet acknowledgment: You are not alone.

THE APPROACH

The series was conceived as an immersive journey into deeply personal, often raw moments—Lady Gaga confronting long-buried trauma, Glenn Close reckoning with generational mental illness, NBA stars DeMar DeRozan and Langston Galloway exposing the psychological toll of performance and expectation.

“I wanted to take off the masks to show everybody is going through something.”

OPRAH WINFREY

PROCESS

As Executive Producer, Catherine Cyr oversaw all creative and logistical aspects of the global series. She developed the overarching narrative structure while maintaining the intimate tone. Working directly with Oprah and Prince Harry, she translated their vision into a cohesive production plan spanning multiple countries.

She managed the complex logistics of filming with high-profile participants, led the post-production process to ensure emotional resonance, and maintained relationships with talent, mental health professionals, and Apple TV+ executives throughout the project's lifecycle.

RECEPTION

By blending personal narratives with evidence-based approaches to healing, the show challenges stigma, fosters empathy, and offers viewers a sense of hope and connection.

The series expanded with The Me You Can’t See: A Path Forward, a reflective follow-up that brought participants and mental health advocates together—not to provide easy answers, but to ask what comes next.
